Fast-growing national real estate network enters Tassie market

July 22, 2019

HOBART sales associate Ben Palmer is the first local agent to join @realty, a national property network that has launched in Tasmania.

Mr. Palmer has worked in the industry for six years and sees the move as good for his clients and his career too.

“It’s a refreshing model that allows agents to focus on what we do well, which is list and sell,” he said.

“I will work within an hour of Hobart, anything outside of that I would not feel comfortable that I was able to service the client properly.”

Chief executive James Taylor said @realty agents effectively ran their own business within a business.

He said they had the freedom to make the choices like Mr Palmer had that would help vendors sell their property quickly and for the best price.

“They can run their business the way they see fit but with the back-end support from head office,” he said.

With the move into Tasmania, and soon the Northern Territory and New Zealand, @realty has more than 580 agents nationally.

Mr Taylor said this could be an advantage for vendors as the company’s database allowed agents to share listings and work together to sell faster.

“We encourage our agents to work collaboratively and, for vendors, it is effectively like listing a home with about 600 agents,” he said.

Headquartered on the Gold Coast, @realty does not operate franchises or regional offices. Instead it invests in technology and custom software to complement face-to-face interaction between its agents and clients.
